Calcium-phosphorus metabolism and markers of its regulation in patients with rheumatoid arthritis with violation of bone mineral density: character and diagnostic value

چکیده

Introduction. Patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) are twice as likely to have osteoporosis (OP) compared the general population. The strength of bones depends on mineral substances, mainly represented by calcium phosphate microcrystals. chief role in regulation calcium-phosphorus metabolism is played vitamin D and parathormone (PTH). aim study. To investigate markers patients accompanied bone density (BMD) disorders find out their diagnostic value. Materials methods. 76 RA (64 premenopausal women 12 mature men) were included All subjected ultrasound densitometry according its results, divided into three groups: osteopenia, OP; without BMD disorders. control group 22 healthy individuals both genders abnormalities. evaluate metabolism, ionized calcium, total phosphorus, PTH, blood serum, levels phosphorus urine detected. Results. It was revealed that concentration serum lower individuals, while same index OP or higher people. significantly disorders, individuals. PTH abnormalities osteopenia. Conclusions. In osteopenia osteoporosis, more often than a violation density, urine, well indices deviations from reference values significance.

Comparing bone mineral density in rheumatoid arthritis and psoriatic arthritis

Background: Changes in patients’ bone mineral density (BMD) is one of the problems in patients with rheumatoid arthritis, which can be due to the use of corticosteroid drugs to reduce patients' symptoms or due to the aging process in patients. In this study, we decided to compare BMD in patients with psoriatic arthritis and rheumatoid arthritis. Methods: This study as a cross-sectional descrip...

Bone mineral density changes during treatment of rheumatoid arthritis with disease-modifying-anti-rheumatic drugs

Background: Bone mineral density (BMD) changes during the course of rheumatoid arthritis (RA). The present study was designed to investigate the status of BMD in patients with RA treated with anti-rheumatic drugs. Methods: BMD at the femoral neck (FN-BMD) and lumbar spine (LS-BMD) were measured by dual energy x-ray absorptiometry (DXA) method using Norland densitometer. Disease activity (DA) wa...
